“Distractions”

If all the world were a stage,
But Shakespeare never wrote it,
Would men and women know their roles
Spoken or unspoken?

If the apple didn’t fall from the tree
And the snake didn’t hiss his charms,
Would God pardon you and me from
The knowledge that turns into harm?

In a world full of wonders
It’s hard not to get distracted.

In a world full of wonders
A thirst for purpose and knowledge
Just happens.
